Revlon ColorStay Foundation Normal/Dry "110 Ivory"

Bonjour, my lovelies!

I am very pale. Freakishly so. This means I have a hard time finding the right foundation, but luckily, this shade is perfect. (Top tip: Always test foundations on your face, not on your hand, arm, or neck!) I have pink-undertoned skin, not yellow; I find that most foundations and concealers are yellow-toned, so this is fantastic for me.

This has very high coverage (medium-full), which I personally love. I'm not one for light foundations. I use it with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, which works pretty well. For me, it takes a while to blend, but I take ages doing my makeup anyway so I don't mind that.

It leaves my skin looking flawless without feeling very heavy. It's incredibly long-lasting; I haven't worn it for 24 hours straight, but it does last absolutely ages. It's also great for stage makeup, though it is SPF 15 so there may be some flashback in photos.

The biggest downside for me is that it doesn't have a pump, so you can't really control how much is coming out and some of the product is wasted. I got this a while ago, though, and I've seen in some pharmacies that they now have pumps, so when I repurchase it I'll get one with a pump.

It's a fantastic price, as well! That's always good.

Au revoir! xx

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer "500 Luna" and "501 Stellar"

I haven't tried much from Rimmel - two products, the Apocalips and a Kate Moss lipstick - but I really like it so far. I've heard great things about their products, especially the Wake Me Up and Match Perfection foundations, as well as their ScandalEyes eyeshadows.

A while ago I heard great things about their Apocalips Lip Lacquers, and decided to give them a go. I bought 500 Luna and 501 Stellar from feelunique.com (one of my favourite websites), which arrived pretty quickly. 500 Luna is a peachy nude - is it possible for there to be a bright nude shade? If so, this is it. 501 Stellar is a bright, hot pink shade which is almost red.

Stellar looks much more red on the lips than it looks on the outside packaging (and my pictures), so be aware of that! I am a big red lipsick fan, so I like this colour and it is a nice spin on the usual vintage red shade.

I saw the lovely Zoe (www.zoella.co.uk) wearing Luna in one of her videos and I really liked how it looked on her. Unfortunately it didn't look as good on me. It might be my hair or colouring, but it just didn't suit me. I can still wear it occasionally if I'm going on a day out or a festival or something, but it's not really something I'd wear every day.

The first thing (after the colours) I notice about these is the wet consistency. It's not a bad thing, it's jut very different to what I'm used to. The applicator is nice (I like doe foot applicators a lot) and it's pretty easy to get a precise shape. And if you mess up, it's easily fixed. Unfortunately, that means it does transfer.

One thing I don't like, though, is the scent. It's quite strong and I can't quite put my finger on what it smells like. The Kate Moss lipsticks have the same scent, it's just not as strong. The smell a minor issue, though.

So overall, I like the Apocalips. I don't think I'd rush out to buy them again, but I am glad I bought them.

Revlon Scented Nail Enamel "320 Ocean Breeze"

I love Revlon. Especially their nail polishes. And especially their scented nail polishes. So far I've only tried two of the scented ones, 360 Bubble Gum (which I may get to later) and this one, 320 Ocean Breeze.

While 360 Bubble Gum smells quite strongly of bubble gum for about a day, this one has basically no smell, which does bother me a bit. If you smell your nails really close up you may get a subtle hint of sand, but nothing much else. I may have just gotten a bad one, but I don't think so.

Apart from that, this is lovely. It's a metallic colour which looks blue in some light and green in others, with sort of a hint of acid yellow in it too. It looks nice on toenails as well.

I'm not sure how much it is in stores but I got mine for about $7 (NZD) on a sale website. I used two coats but it was mostly opaque after just one.
